You are offerding on an absolutely stunning antique crystal and sterling silver pitcher produced around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries by the esteemed silversmiths of Dominick and Haff. The detail evident in this piece is unparalleled. It features a high relief floral motif encircling the entire border of the crystal and silver. It is marked with the Dominick and Haff hallmark and the word \"Sterling\". Directly above the \"Sterling\" stamp, there is a very finely inciseddate of 2/3/85. I do not know the significance of this date, as it can only be 1885, as a possible production date, or 1985 as an acquisition date. The condition of this piece is exemplary. With the exception of two small dimples in the very top rim, the silver work is free of dents and only shows a few very fine scratches. The cut crystal is in excellent condition with wonderful clarity. There are usage scratches on the bottom as well as one very small chip on the underside. The fleabite is not evident in the pictures, I found it with a magnifyingglass inspection. Other than the one small fleabite, the crystal is in excellent condition as well. This is truly an amazing work of art that will make a fine addition to any collection or table top. It stands 11 1/4 inches in height, with a base diameter of 5 1/8 inches. It weighs 6 pounds 8.7 ounces. The silver top is 3 1/8 inches from the upper rim to the border with the crystal. It isfrom the estate of Irving Cowan, and the late Marjorie Friedman Cowan of Hollywood Florida. The Cowans were breeders and owners of Thoroughbred horses, including the Breeder\'s Cup winners Wildcat and War Chant. They were also the former owners of the Diplomat Hotel in Hollywood Florida.I recently acquired it and several other vintage and antique pieces at sale.
