This beautiful old pendant necklace is still in good condition, there is some small signs of wear to the black areas on the setting, this can be seen in the images, but it does not detract from the attractiveness of the piece and it is old, I\'m surprised it looks so good after so many years and this could be easily remedied with a small application of an appropriate black polish.
The pendant is ornate and quite large, with some beautiful raised detail, it feels and looks lovely. The centre is set with a Scarab Beetle, it is stone and has been very nicely carved, some of the more modern pieces have a roughly carved Beetle, this one is particularly well done and has some lovely colours and markings. There are no chops, cracks or damaged areas to the beetle.
The chain is not original, it is newer that the pendant, the old chain was broken, but the new chain matches perfectly and has a good, working bolt clasp, The chain and clasp show no signs of wear, shiny and very clean, they have polished up beautifully. I think the clasp must be silver plated, possibly the chain too, they have such a good colour and a lovely finish.
