For sale is a vintage 1942 Silver Plated Olds Super Recording cornet. Olds SR cornets arefairly rare, even more so than the Super Recording trumpets. This SR cornet was hand-made and also the \"Top of the Line\" cornet in Olds line-up at this time. Olds is the only manufacturer that has the offset middle valve. The sound of this cornet is truly Super; can be warm, smokey or bright. The feel in the hand due to the offset valves of this cornet is reallynice.

This hand-made Super Recording is in excellent condition. There are no dents on it and the finish is silver plated, which is very rare for this model. There are a couple very tiny shallow pings inside the bell flare.

The valves are in excellent condition and move freely. See pics.

All slides pull easily.

Compression is also outstanding.

Tone ring encircling the outer bellis engraved Super OldsRecording.

The serial number is stamped oneach of the valves and match the number on the 2nd valve casing.

This comes with two sets of finger buttons. The ones installed are turquoise and the other set appear to be perhaps mother of pearl. The 2nd slide pull button has a fire opal adorning it. Also included is a vintage Olds 4 mouthpiece, silver Olds lyre and beautiful Olds Lifton cornet case (latches work also).
