This is a Beautiful Vintage Sterling Silver Trinket Box, Made in Peru.

The top of the box has a scene in high relief with a man in traditional garb, and a llama in front of thatched roof hut, with the peaks of the Andes in the background.

Please note that the photos are closeups. The oval box is 1 5/16\" x 1\" x 1/2\" high. The size relative to a US dime is shown in one of the photos. The lid and lower section of the box each has a small tab that you press with your thumb and forefinger toeasily open the box. The boxthen press-fits securely closed again.

The bottom is marked \"925\"/ There is no maker\'s mark.
