Beautiful Vintage Peters and Reed Art PotteryLANDSUN pattern vase is a little over 4.5\" high.
Peters & Reed Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio, was founded by John D. Petersand Adam Reed in 1897. Chromal, Landsun, Montene, Pereco, and Persian are someof the art lines that were made. Peters & Reed used local red clay to make their piecesand introduced their first art pottery line in 1912. The company, which becameZane Pottery in 1920 and Gonder Pottery in 1941, closed in 1957.Peters & Reed pottery was unmarked.
\"The LANDSUN line was one of the most popular.It is finished in blended effects of different colors.On the bottom there will be usually be a pencil mark under the glaze.These marks are made at the factory and are usually the shape number.The effects of the brush strokes give you a Night Sky,some Light or Land and then Dark Blue Water.\"
I cannot make out the numbers on the base.This LANDSUN vase is made of blended rich dark blues, browns, and greens.The vase measures a little over 4.5\" tall with a 2\" round base.The vase has a round bottom, 4\" at its widest, narrowing to a 2\" opening.The condition is wonderful, no chips, no cracks.Light spot on rim is NOT a chip just lack of color.Protrusion on lower side.Light overall crazing inside the vase.
