Wonderful old antique French plaster statue of St Therese de Lisieux also known as The Little Flower of Jesus and dating from late 1800\'s to the early 1900\'s
The statue is hand painted and her facial features are so beautiful even though she shows signs of some of the passage of passing years.... she carries roses and a crucifix.
Very old antique condition with some areas of missing plaster/paint but she still stands perfectly. This is a very old object and sadly these very old plaster statues are often in condition such as this. However, despite all of these faults she remains serenelybeautiful .

Born 1873 in Alencon, Normandy of devout parents St Therese became a Carmelite nun at the young age of 15 and led a short but fulfilled life. Her health steadily declined in the final few years of her life due to tuberculosis resulting in her death at the age of 24 years old in 1897. She was canonized in 1925 and remains one of the most popular saints in France today.Feelfree to ask questions!
