First the item was made from wax.Then it is cast with clay to make a mold.Inside the mold, molten bronze is poured and hardens.
I am an artist and I tried to do this kind of art. The wax was very difficult to work with and I was indoors in a modern facility. It was either too soft or too hard and I just could not get the hang of it. I am so amazed when I see Antique bronze made in Africa! They did not have electricity, orair-conditioningor any modern convenience!
