---Lovely old original Bessie Pease Gutmann art print in vintage, gilt wood frame. The print is hand colored and lettered with the title \"Awakening,\" Gutmann\'s signature, and ©664 Gutmann & Gutmann, Made in USA. Bessie Pease Gutmann (1876–1960) was an American artist whose two most notable works were \"A Little Bit of Heaven\" and \"Awakening.\" --both focusing on the face and hands of a darling infant tucked under a blanket, both produced before 1920, and hand colored by the artist herself.---Framed under glass (all photos taken through glass) without a mat in a vintage, carved wood, gilt gold frame which may be original to the piece. It has a cardboard backing, shows wear to the gilding and is in the style of the period.Outer measurement of frame: 19.25 x 15.25 inches.print\'s condition: excellent, unblemished print with no tears or damage. Colors are strong and seemingly unfaded, and the background is a soft ivory tone rather than a bright white. There is some dust inside the frame.framing\'s condition: The print is backed with cardboard and secured into the frame with brads. Brown paper was glued around the back to protect from dust, but it\'s now brittle and coming off. The gold is worn in places, but is still beautiful and shiny. The frame is sturdy and strong. Wiring for hanging is attached.This beautiful frame matches my other Gutmann print listed, \"A Little Bit of Heaven\" and I would combine shipping and consider reasonable offers for both together.
