Please find an almost mint condition rare early 1950\'s Besson Brevete made in Paris, France(not a Kanstul horn) medium large bore lacquered Bb trumpet with original case with zippered cover. No mouthpiece is offered with this sale. The serial number is 100271 considered to be a post-war Brevete instrument. The bore size measured at the 2nd valve slide measures .458 -.460\" or medium large bore. . The bell is 4.75\". The instrument has been chem cleaned and thoroughly cleaned inside and out. The horn has been re-lacquered and is close to 100% gorgeous, no dents or dings. I try not to give my opinion on sound quality unless the instrument has a special quality to me. With the medium large bore the horn puts out a wall of sound. Intonation is spot on whatever register you choose. If you need volume and projection this Brevete will handle it for sure. All new valve stem felts as well as new waterkey corks. Good valve compression and speed. 3rd valve finger ring adjustment moves freely without drag. The case has been sanitized no odors to worry about. The interior and exterior of the case is in excellent condition. The case latches secure the instrument nicely. There is not a key with the case. The case cover has protected the horn for many years as the case looks almost new. I personally could find only one flaw in the horn and it is a minor thing to me. The Besson logo etching on the 2nd valve casing was covered by the new application of lacquer left to pool in the area of the logo yielding it almost illegible(please see pictures). I just feel it should be described here for certain collectors. This quality of horn and case combination is phenomenal and truly a collectors dream. For a 60 year old horn it truly appears new in all ways. The horn will be thoroughly hand polished again day before shipping. It will be clean, shiny, and ready to play right out of the box.
