Have a look at this beautiful blonde electric archtop jazz guitar masterbuilt in Nurnberg/Germany by August Strohmer 'ASTRO' in the early 1950's:
Fullsize 16.5" archtop body with venetian cutaway. Finest solid handcarved spruce top, figured bookmatched solid maple sidesand back. Glossy natural finish.
The overall length is 42.5" (108cm), Scale: 24.6" (62.5cm).
Neck-width: 42 mm at the nut and 48 mm at the 12th fret.
Body: 16.5" (42cm) wide, 21.25" (54cm) long and 3.35" (8.5cm) deep.
Rosewood fretboard with 21 frets plus zero fret, perloid fret markers. D-shaped 5-ply figured maple neck with ebony stripes. Heigth adjustable ebony bridge with individual fretwire saddles for each string.
Engraved nickel brass tailpiece 'ORIGINAL ASTRO'.
A professional masterbuilt instrument with clear jazzy voice and good separation of single notes. Perfect for all kinds of music, especially for jazz and swing.
The guitar was retrofitted with a contemporary FRAMUS pickup-pickguard assembly. Chrome pickguard plate, 2 single-coil pickups with adjustable pole pieces, 2 volume and 2 tone controls. 6mm output jack underneath the pickguard. A special adapter cable with 1/4" plug is included.
The pickup works flawless and sounds great.
Good condition considering the age. Several little dents, spots and scratches are present of course. A few small holes from a former pickguard and a strap holder at the upper bouts have been repaired long ago.
Perfect straight neck. Low action app.3mm at the 12th fret.
