Beautiful George Washington\'s Headquarters Plate, 10\", gorgeous detail with the house and an elaborate 2\" border with roses. These plates were typically made in the Staffordshire region in England, and contracted for production with individual sellers in the Valley Forge, Pennsylvania area, in the 1880\'s.
Our plate does not show the name of the English maker, it does have (on the back) the underglaze description \"Washington\'s Headquarters Valley Forge\" and some impressed production numbers, looks like 2 09. The back also has 3 kiln marks, it has an overall light bluish/gray tone, as well as some blue spattering found with flow blue ware.
There are no chips or cracks, the back has light crazing, the front does not. Excellent antique condition!
