The following is from the OSRAM spec sheet:Vf = 17.4V (min), 20.8V (typ), 24.5V (max) all at If = 700ma

fraction of its maximum power. I measured a 16.98V drop across the LED at that current.
When operating at higher current levels, you will definitely need to make sure there is some kind of temperature control to keep the
part from self-destructing due to overheating (so having good air-flow would be a must) and temperature sensing might be needed
for sustained operation. When i ran it using only the 70ma current level, it was beginning to get very warm.
