Great painting by an artist I can find very little information about. Always makes me wonder what happened to the rest of his paintings because he was quite good. I did find a reference to a print entitled \"As the Sun Goes Down\" which is after a painting by Clifton Hewitt on a website called Darvill\'s Rare Prints.
Anyway, painting is titled \"Fishing Boats, Deal England\". It is in wonderful untouched condition. Minor craquelure. Would benefit from a cleaning. Signed lower right.
Size of the canvas is 25\" x 30\". Could be Hewitt is an American artist who spent some time in England. I can\'t find any biography on the man.
