Original WWI British 3rd Bn Welch Regiment OFFICERS MESS Campaign chest.

Chest has two doors on front thatopen and a drawer inside. The drawer appears to have had partitions that are not there now. The pulls on the drawer are original, the hooks on the front doors are original, the eyes on the front doors are NOT original. Thetop and bottom original locks for the left hand door are intact and working. The original lock on the doors is intact but no key. The door hinges are original. Some screws have been replaced. The heavy metal handles on each side are original. One original skate is on the bottom and two newer ones are also there. Hand dovetailing.

The box is signed on boneby GOLDSMITHS and SILVERSMITHS COMPANY Ltd, 112 Regency Street, London W.

The chest measures 29\" X 17\" X 20 1/2\".

Some nicks and scratches on box. Partitions inside drawer missing. Some screws and the loops on front panels have been replaced. Some internal felt linings missing. Newer skates on bottom (one original also on bottom). One crack on the top panel. Nicks and gougles on the edges.
