Here is an old MATCH COVER somewhat akin to the CALIFORNIA GOLD RUSH of 1849 in that the name of the town is YREKA. Yreka wasn\'t incorporated until 1894 but the COUNTY SEAT - SISKIYOU was there in 1852 right in the HEAT of the RUSH. There are several different reasons given for the name YREKA, but it HAS to have something to do with the GOLD FEVER. The cover is an ADVERTISMENT for BROADWAY FOUNTAIN LUNCH. C.R.NORRIS - OWNER - The business consisted of FOUNTAIN SERVICE with LIGHT LUNCH with TASTY DELICIOUS SANDWICHES. They also carried a complete line of CIGARS and CIGARETTES.

The cover is in nice condition missing the striker.
