Nice, big 3/16 inch round rhinestones are prong set. There are two arcs across the top, the first with eight stones, underneath has six stones. They crown a sideways oval looks-like-onyx-cabochon, that is black enamel.
Another rigid row of three rhinestones is on the bottom and three dangles of rhinestones hang from that - the center one is six stones long, others four.
this brooch is 2 5/8 inches long with loads of glitter from the stones - the dangles dance and sparkle. The black oval is one inch wide.
The back side - well, lots and lots of solder - to hold the arcs of stone rigid and to fasten the lower row on.
The pinback has a half-loop closure, also called a C-clasp, which kind of dates it. I\'m thinking 1930s...although they may not have used enamel this way back then. Still early, though.
