Up foryour consideration is a Buchan Pottery (of Portobello, Scotland) hand made jug or small pitcher. The jug is a nice shape, with a light blue glaze and a darker blue design around the midsection. Most of the design seemsto be abstract shapes, but there are also some stylized flowers. The bottom edge of the jug has a matte glaze in lightbrown or golden tan.
The jug stands 5 1/4 inches tall, measures 2 1/2 inches across the base, and weighs 1 pound, 2 3/8 ounces.
The bottom is marked with an impressed BUCHAN - Portobello - Scotland stamp. Below that, it reads 95 / 15 / M 5 / 10 in brown.
The jug is inexcellent, almost-new condition, with no cracks, or crazing.There is a small indentation or graze on the bottom brown edge of the jug (see the last picture).
