See my other sales for more relics from the Civil War and Indian Wars periods in New Mexico. This was found by a gentleman (now deceased) who used to metal detect around Fort Craig, New Mexico in the 1960\'s. This is a mouthpiece from a bugle or other musical instrument. Measures approx 2 3/16\" long. Looks like he cleaned it at one time. Still has a very hard concretion of dirt inside. Was probably a firepit or dump find. Good, solid condition.
