Linocut is from limited edition hand carved linocut one color block print. It is manually printed on 220 gsm (120 lbs) paper. Sheet is printed, signed, numbered and listed by the author. It is not framed and without any defects.

My name is Ivan Novosad. I live in a small village near Prague in Czech Republic, where I have a confortable studio in my garden. I have M. Sc. in informatics Czech Technical University in Prague and I visited painting courses on Academy of Arts Architecture and Design Prague (Stanislav Divis).

Artist statement

My artwork blends two completely different sensation poles.

The first is \"Openess\", where I am interested to open individual and his desire to return to a time when his life did not take into account the broader society (early childhood?). Areas of color thrown into space, clearly defined and shining, slowly time passes. Mosaics country without beginning or end. Everything is uncut, still did not settle the dust, the sun is at its zenith. Shapes loosely strewn in the sand, lost, but found again, colorful puzzle - what were they? Whose were they?, Why they are here?

The second pole is the \" taciturnity\" where am interested individuals closeness to each other, a world where society is full of conventions leads to caution and contacting is not so easy. Shapes wedged into each other tight and dense. Careful relationships, tangled ties.

\"Symbol, light and motion in paintings \"

Paintings of Ivan Novosad are universal in specific meaning. This \"reading\" allow for one thing its composition and for another using of characteristic symbols. Komposition is not traditional centripetal and focused into one point or agle view but it enables conversely number of readings and entries into painting.

We can observe paintings from various sides without disturbing its meaning because use inner relations, individual shape comparation and bringing into consonance of painting parts are cardinal. This approach appeal to demarcate inner constellations and it damn its sharp surrounding outer limits (frame, geometric space i.e). Painting space is not divided into conventional strips to simulate depth but it is viewed as though above, as reading of the map or other viewing on pictogram or ideogram basis. This type of characteristics ( based mainly on arbitrarity approach) can t see as virtual simulation but like gloss of peculiar lnguage.

Ivan Novosad works with pure colors because he is founding durable \"on start\" in the time of birth. Ancient or European Middle Ages art was in time of birth very colorful. There is not taken hold of the time which will hapens, patina which will settle. This all author leaves only to continuancy. He neither do not anticipate or does not accelerate (in contrast from group of existencional displays). Author creates thing in ideal status without pictorial improvements. His works as though had encoded certain \"no time\" but this is not possible in reality. This status of spawning can be very thankful for viewers and it is promise of conceptuality such activity. Author expresses clearly together with stigmality and strukturality. Figures always compose certain assemble with shapes point to recemble visualisation of mathematical rightfulnesses (similar in work of Zdenek Sykora).

Sending of the work.

I send works via registered mail or as a valuable writing depending on their price. Purchased works will be sent to you within 1-2 working days.

The price for sending work includes postage, cost per work package and insurance against loss of the consignment.

Return of the work

Purchased work may be returned within 7 days of receipt. Money paid for the work will be returned to the buyer. Sending the return of the work paid by the buyer.

In the case of damage during transport work refuses shipment, write the bearer information about damage and inform the seller that will send the same work, if possible. In the event that is not the same work available to you will be refunded the purchase price of the work, including the fee for posting.

Garantee of limited editions

For all works in limited editions can guarantee compliance with the size of the issue, which appears in the works. After printing the entire edition of units closed and digital documents delete. This is the relevant editions matched, and can never be developed further copies

On linocuts, which usually hold out up to 200 prints, I create multi-color versions (states). For example, I print linocut in color red (100 copies), color blue (50 pieces) and the color pink (50 pieces). After page 200 I damage linocut creating cut across it and create last print to document closing of edition.
