Description
A good antique English Elsmore & Forster puzzle jug.
Grimaldi puzzle jug, transfer decorated with an image of Grimaldi, Harlequin, Columbine and other Commedia dell\'Arte figures, Elsmore & Forster ironstone transfer printed presentation jug, Staffordshire (Tunstall), C1853-71
The jug has a hand painted gilt inscription on the front.
The second word is \'hall\', I cannot make out the first.
Dates C1853-1871.
Size & Weight
Measures 23cm 9\" tall.
Weight 1030 grams.
Marks & Back stamps
marked to base (see pic)
Condition
Generally good condition.
There is a small star hairline on the lower body.
Light staining to base.
Crazing.
Firing faults possible.
General age commensurate wear.
