On offer is this elegant 19th century, Victorian era, silver plated tea pot. In the 1790\'s \'Federal\' shape - it is highlyengraved around the rims, and vertical ribs and lid. Aleave/teardrop finial.Base is marked with \'[an arm holding a pennant]Philip Ashberry & Sons Sheffield EPBM (for Britannia Metal = ie. silver plate) 5 4491 Made in England Expansion Bottom\'. \'And Sons\' was added to the Philip Ashberry mark in 1856 and was \'Ltd\' by 1900 - therefore this pot dates to the second half of the 19th century.Dimensions: Stands 12cm to rim of the pot, approx 16cm to top of the finial. Spans 29cm handle to spout. Holds approx 1.3L / 5 cups. In fair/good condition for age.There are a couple of dents/dings on each side of the main body, along with other surface scratches/marks and odd tarnish spot consistent with age and use. Lid sits slightly ajar at the top but still very functional. Whilst I\'ve given the exterior a quick polish, I suggest that the interior is thoroughly cleaned prior to use.
