Charles Kassler II (1897-1979) is perhaps best known for his WPA murals in California--notably the Beverly Hills Post Office and Plummer Auditorium at Fullerton College. He was also a prolific painter, printmaker and lithographer. A simple web search of his name will give you a wealth of information about his life and works. For sale here is a very nice Art Deco woodblock print of two horses that he did in 1925. It is Number 3 of an edition of 15, and this edition was most likely done as gifts to close friends. The print is pencil signed and dated 1925 in the lower right. In the lower left corner is written \"3/15 With best wishes to my friend Arthur Fisher\". The print itself measures 8\" x 9 1/2\". The framed size as it is currently framed is 14\" x 21.\" The print is matted in an eggshell colored matte and framed in a black wooden frame. The print itself is clean and crisp. I see no damage or spotting. This is an exceptional piece by a well known California artist!! The Art Deco image of the horses only adds to its appeal.
