Alarge french 1930 art decochandelier in nickel plated solid brass orbronzeby the famousParis based companyofCharles Ranc.It holds six opalescent cups made by Ezan aFrench glassfactory from the town of Ezanville near Paris. Famous for its production of opalescent glasses.. semi-crystal to be precise. With beautiful tones of milky blue or warm amber depending weather light falls on it or shines through. The shades are unsigned.. this model always is. The mounting is markedCR on the inside of many its components. Charles Ranc was a designer and producer of bronze lighting starting his company in 1909 he became very successful around 1925 with his gilt bronze lamps and chandeliers with coloured Schneider glass paste shades. 1930 onwards his style became less classical and for this more modernist art deco look he mostly used Ezanshades either in ordinary molded-pressed glass or in the bluish opalescent version as on this superb chandelier.

Ithas a height of 96 cm (37-3/4\") and is 73 cm wide (28-3/4\"). The shades have a diameter of 20 cm. Itis inexcellentcondition. Thefixture has been replated and the lamp is newly wired.It holdssix european E14 sockets.I will rewire it for the US Canadaor Japan with US candelabra base sockets. B22 bayonet cap sockets for France the UK or Australia arepossible as well.
