Skillfully hand made byWai Kee of1c Pedder Street, Hong Kongwhich has operated from around 1885 and still exists today.

Wai Kee was China\'s equivalent of America’s Tiffany & Co and they are Hong Kong’s oldest luxury goods store. Since 1885, they have specialised in luxury jewellery, pearls, diamonds and sterling silver objects. This beautifully made piece consists of a fine pierced solid silver cage surrounding an amber coloured glass bottle. Both the silver and glass are marked as shown.The silver cage features an intricately hand chased Chinese Junk, pagoda and mountainous terrain and exquisite hand pierced Chinese style waves giving a jewel like overall effect. Coloured glass would have been a novelty then in the far east
It is a tactile and beautifully proportioned piece with a height of 101mm, it weighs 94g.
