This sale is for a scarce authentic ancient Roman bronze brooch dated 100 AD-200 AD (more than 1800 years old). This brooch has a fabulous \"Hod Hill\" design and beautiful patina. The pin is missing. It is in excellent condition. Measures 48mm in length. Found in Europe.This brooch can be compared to a similar piece shown in \"Nigel Mills, Celtic & Roman Artifacts\", #RB83 (shown in picture 3). Ancient soldiers would bury their valuable treasures before a big battle hoping to return later. The items they didn\'t bury were often lost on the battlefield.
