Wooden Box - Lined inside. Item #39066. Made in Taiwan.

Dated: 1990

Size: 7\" tall x 4\" wide x 3\" deep

Condition - Wooden. Never used, never displayed, no chips, no defects, no crazing. Your valuable collectible is well packed, protected and in great shape! This item comes in original box with minor wear from being in a retail storeroom warehouse - still great for gift-giving!

This yellow wooden box is a replica of the cardboard containers that Coca-Cola bottles would be sold in, in groups of 6, in the 1920s. Several iconic slogans and images appear on this box.The traditional script logo has been used by Coca-Cola since 1885, when the company bookkeeper, Frank Mason Robinson, used a popular form of cursive to create one of the most recognizable brands in history. Cool Trivia: Prior to 1915, Coca-Cola was distributed in a number of bottle styles, none of which was distinctive. Desiring to set themselves apart from the competition \"even in the dark\", Coke held a contest among its bottle suppliers to find a workable design that would distinguish their product. Earl R. Dean of the Root Glass Company came up with the winning concept, the contour bottle, a design which persists in Coca-Cola products today. This wooden box is deep yellow-orange. Each side has a red scroll border.
On each narrow side, a red Coca-Cola contour bottle is drawn centered in the border.
On each wide side, the slogan \"Thirst knows no season\" appears near the top. This slogan was introduced in 1922 and appeared on products through the 1950s.
Below, the traditional Coca-Cola script logo appears in red. Centered, \"Delicious and Refreshing\" is written in red above the line \"In the Distinctive Bottle\", referring to the then recently released contour design. At the bottom, it reads \"The Coca-Cola Co. Atlanta, GA\" in red block letters. The lid has a cutout handle, much like the old 6-packs. Each wide side shows a circle with \"6 BOTTLES\" on the left and a circle with \"25¢\" on the right. This wooden box was part of a very limited release and is now hard to find. It makes a great gift for a Coca-Cola collector.
