Up for sale is this superb hand built vintage Colnago Super Columbus SL Road Road Frame from the 1980s, probably 1982. It has just been fabulously professionally refurbished with period correct Colnago and Columbus decals. The paint finish is a stunning and lustrous flamboyant candy blue with the \"Colnago\" pantographed parts picked out in yellow. The forks are chromed. The frame comes complete with a Campagnolo Alloy Headset.

The Columbus SL, one of the very lightest steel tubesets, was designed to be used by professional cyclists both in road racing and timetrialling. It was a direct competitor to Reynolds 753 and 531.Framesbuilt from Columbus were regularly raced by the top professionals of the time in the Tour de France and one-day Classics.

Colnago have been one of the leading Italian frame builders and can be mentioned in thev same breath as Pinarello, Battaglin, Ciocc, Benotto, Rossin and Basso. This particular frame is stunningly beautiful and elegant, constructed with beautiful lugwork. There are several particularly attractive features which include forged Colnago dropouts: the forks have a lovely forged semi-sloping crown pantographed with the Colnago logo; the headtube lug is also pantographed with the famous Colnago \"ace of spades\" logo. The bottom bracket also has the \"ace of spades cutout of the bottom bracket.

In terms of condition it can be regarded as new with a finish probably superior to the original. The chrome is in perfect condition. You will not be disappointed! This lovely frame would make asuperb basis for a brilliant lightweight retro build with eithera top flight Campagnolo or Shimano groupset and Mavic wheels!
