Conklin 30 crescent filler, 1920s, in black chased hard rubber with gold filled trim. Full size pen with Conklin #3 nib.

Very nice condition with some fading but overall very good dark color, excellent chasing and imprints. A good example of a Conklin crescent filler.

The nib is fine to medium and quite flexible. It\'s capable of pointed-pen calligraphy styles like copperplate or spencerian, yet still excellent for everyday use It\'s not overly soft -- it takes a bit of pressure to make the tines separate. See the writing samples.

Crescent filler, restored and working with a new sac installed. To fill, you move the donut out of the way and press on the gold filled crescent, which is attached to a pressure bar on the inside of the barrel. Length is about 5 7/16 inches.

The writing samples are made using the pen itself, dipped in Parker Quink black. The paper is a Rhodia pad with 5mm squares.
