You are viewing a NEW in leatherette case MEDAL OF SAINT FLORIAN With official insignia, of their branch. St. FLORIAN Pray for us is written on front of medal in addition to Insignia of FIREFIGHTERS.. Medal is made in Italy, taken from designs from the Old Masters. F.D. on top of medal.This particular medal is different from the rest. A very nice gentleman from enlightened me about the shape. It is actually the St. Florian Cross. It is the cross used in ancient Rome by St. Florian himself who is widely recognized as the father of fire fightening. Not to be confused with the Maltese cross. Now that I look closely I absolutely see the shape of a cross. Never know what we can still learn day to day! My sincerest thanks to my rescuer!
