COLLECTING BITS...Calico Critters and Sylvanian Families are the same; Sylvanian Families originated from Japan in 1985; they were called by that name in all countries including the US. In the early 90s, the name was switched to Calico Critters only in North America. There are some variants country to country, for example: names of figures, clothing, etc but they are still the same product. CC/SF both state they originated in 1985 yet the Calico Critter name didn\'t come about until the late 90s. Again showing that CC/SF are the SAME:)
