Composition:Copper

Design:The coin showcasesthe uncrowned effigy of Edward VIII who was king of Britain from January 20 to December 11, 1936. When he acceded to the throne in January, preparations for new coins bearing his effigy began, but Edward VIII abdicated before the production tools for all the coins to be issued in Britain and its colonies were completed. Hence, this particular effigy never entered circulation in Canada.

Packaging:The coin is encapsulated and presented in a maroon clamshell case lined protected by a black sleeve.
