On offer is a beautiful large size game dish with its matching under plate. Dates to the early 1800s. The lid is finely detailed with raised relief rabbits and game birds lying on a bed of leaves and ferns. The handle is a molded branch or twig;the sides of the dish and under plate have a basket weave design. Lovely large size: measuring 10 1/2” long, 3” high to the rim, and 5” high to the top of the twig handle. The game dish is in remarkable condition considering its age. The only damage is a small chip on the top of the lid shown in picture3. Hardly noticeable when on display and remarkable that it lasted this long with just that small bite.
