Exceptional porcelain rendition of a parrot, with superb detail and color. On the bottom of the piece is the recognized mark for Capodimonte: the capital letter \"N\" with a crown over it, all in blue. There is an artist signature, \"059\", as well. Due to the detail of the mark, I\'m guessing this piece dates from the early 1800s but I cannot validate that because the Capodimonte mark was often imitated by other porcelain manufacturers in Europe in the 19th century. The detail, the glaze and the quality of the piece validate it as antique. He is in excellent condition, with perhaps a small chip on the very end of the beak. It has been expertly corrected so it doesn\'t show and is apparent due to the lack of sharpness. I\'ve priced it accordingly. The parrot stands 7 3/8\" tall and is approximately 3 1/2\" deep, front to back. The base is about 2 1/2\" in diameter. I did my best to capture the style and quality in pictures, and to describe the piece as completely as possible, but if you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
