Carl ZeissJena Pancolar 2/50 in great condition in M42 screw mount. It’s marked as “AusJena” due to legal issues with Carl Zeiss name usage on some export markets inthe certain period of history. 50 mmfocal length F/2 maximum aperture. So called “star wars” finish. As far as my knowledge goes, M42 variants ofthis lens are quite rare.
Lens is inreally great shape – no scratches on the front and rear element, I can’t seeany cleaning marks, there are no traces of fungus, no haze. Optics are totallyclear and with only minimal amount of dust particles inside. There is a minor defect (bubble?) in coating on the rearelement, however, it can be seen only when looking closely and under certainangles.
The lensbody has some paint wear on the rear side of the barrel and minimal scratch ortwo on the front where snap on filter was mounted (both can be seen on thephotos). Otherwise, as you can see, altogether the lens is really wellpreserved. Depth of field indicators work perfectly, aperture is smooth, cleanand snappy. Focusing is stiffer than it should be, but still usable. Due tocollector’s value I didn’t disassemble the lens for cleaning and lubrication which wouldsolve the problem and made the lens a great user.
