It is quite wonderful to see sucha completeand perfect example of early vintage Fleurs de Rocaille Parfum De Caron. This is the legendary perfume of the House of Caron, launched in 1933 and created by Ernest Daltroff, Caron’s master nose. The bottle (sucha femininedesign for this very feminine scent) was designed byFélicie Bergaud.

The graceful stopper features a colorfulbouquet of flowers on a black background, glossy and bright under glass. The wonderfully feminine, delicate white lace collaris still perfectly intact, securely tied with a crisp black grosgrain ribbon. Caron fans know how rare it is to find thisperfect lace collar!

The sealedand full bottle of Caron Fleurs de Rocaille, sculpted in a smooth and feminineshape, is in lovely condition and looks brand new. Like many bottles of Fleurs De Rocaille, thevolume is not marked. The pure white surfaces of the presentation box are crispand clean, both inside and out. The centerround inset, a larger version of the colorful bouquet on black background, isframed in gold and next to spotless. Thepresentation box measures approximately 4” x 4 ½”.

The veryplain and utilitarian external cardboard box suggests this is a very earlyvintage. The box is still in excellent condition,securely taped, showing little wear. I will carefully package thebottle, presentation box and outer box to preserve their wonderful condition!

The composition of vintage Caron Fleurs de Rocaille is based on a literal bouquet offeminine florals, warmed by woodsy base notes.The top opens with notes of palisander, bergamot, gardenia and violet; theheart is a fabulous blend of orris root, jasmine, narcissus, rose, carnation,lily-of-the-valley, ylang-ylang, lilac, mimosa and iris; and the base creates warmthwith amber, sandalwood, musk and cedar. Fragranceaficionados often mention the beauty of Caron Fleurs De Rocaille vintageingredients – as the scent of this vintage old formula is a very different experience than later reformulations.
