DESCRIPTION

For sale is a very well done large Chinese soapstone vase with open work flowers, leaves and a bird. The vase is 9 inches tall and 5 1/2 inches at the widest point. It is very heavy, weighing over 3 pounds. The quality of work on this is good. I have used a pencil to point out some of the details of the carving. In addition to the three dimensional carved leaves and flowers, this piece has incised etching in a floral motif. There is a flaw in the stone consisting of a dark thin line 1 1/2 inches in length on the lower left back side as you face the back of the vase. I did not find any damage or condition issues with this piece other than the flaw in the stone already described. (itemjs)
