Presented here is an unusual item of Solid Silver, a Babies Rattle and Whistle, by Charles Horner.

Hallmarked Chester 1909-10, possible a christening gift.

Silver items were commonly given as Christening gifts.

It has a chain loop so possibly would\'ve been hung on a chain.

When shaken the ball or Peain the top jingles like a bell,alsoyou canblow it as awhistle.

Very well made, the top chamber isa perfect sphere shape.

Charles Horner is a very well known Silversmith, more famous for Jewellery, but did produce a wide range of Silver items.

It is 50mm long and 22mm in diameter at it\'s widest.

Some age patina to the Silver, and the odd little mark but nothing serious considering it\'s 105 years old.
