Charles Lindbergh inspired Art Deco book ends from 1929. After Charles Lindbergh\'s historic transatlantic flight in 1927, these book ends were made to commemorate his feat.
The pieces show Lindbergh wearing an aircraftpilot\'s hat of the era with his plane and an eagle in the background. \"The Aviator\" is inscribedon each book end below Lindbergh.
The bookends are in excellent condition with attractive trouble free surfaces. Many original pieces like these have compromised surfaces(painted, corroded, polished or altered).These pieces have surfaces that are trouble free with an original agedbronze finish and great eye appeal (see photos).
Made by the \"Connecticut Foundry\" (in operation 1921-1939) represented by the letter \"C\" inside a triangle with the manufacture date shown of 1929.
The book ends weigh nearly 4 lbs and each measure 5 1/2\" High, 5\" wide and 1 3/4\" deep.
