Charles Augustus Lindbergh [1902 1974] was an American aviation pioneer,nicknamed \'\'Lucky Lindy\'\' who in 1927 emerged from virtual obscurity as a U.S Mail pilot to instantaneous world fame as the result of his Orteig Prize winning solo nonstop flight from Roosevelt Field on New York\'s Long Island to Le Bourget Field in Paris, France. This historic flight began on May 20, 1927 and covered 3,600 status miles in 33 1/2 hours and was flown in a single-seat, single engine plane built by Ryan aircraft builders named the Spirit of St. Louis. Listed for sale is a [TLS] typed letter signed by Charles Augustus Lindbergh and dated August 9, 1946. The letter is addressed to a Dr. Shoupand the signature issigned \'\'Charles A. Lindbergh\'\' in black fountainpen above his typed name. The lettermeasures 8.50 x 11.00 inches, other then theexpected mail folds and trivial even toning the letter is in fine condition.
