Charming Antique Victorian Carved Cow Bone & Coquilla Nut Chair Pin Cushion:

This is a charming antique chair design pin cushion or dollhouse chair. I believe it is from the 1800s. It has an intricately carved back to the chair made of what looks like cow bone. The seat on the chair is done in a carved light brown nut, which I believe is a Coquilla nut. The Coquilla nut is in fact the fruit of the Brazilian Palm, which is closely related to the coconut palm. The nut is 3-4 inches long, and has a very hard, richly streaked brown shell that is capable of taking a fine polish. It was used in the 1800s for ornamental items. The legs are carved bone as well. The pin cushion is red velvet. It is in very good antique condition. The only thing that I see is a small ding to the end of the top piece of the chair. The piece measures about 3 1/8\" tall.
