Charming Renaissance Silver Betrothal Ring Two Hearts Lovers Knot c. 1480 - 1580:
$426.60

This is a charming Renaissance silver betrothal ring, dating to the late 15th - 16th century A.D. The ring has a round bezel, engraved with two hearts tied together by a lovers knot. This motif can be found from the medieval period, the lovers knot used combining initials of king Henry VIII and queen Catherine of Aragon. During the latter 16th century the use of lovers knots became quite fashionable on jewellery and seals. The shape of this ring is quite early, with simple engraved shoulders of a late 15th century type. The ring is intact and in good excavated condition, this ring is perfectly suited for contemporary wear if one so chooses!
