CHINESE EXPORT SILVER BOWL CRANES FEEDING 128 OUNCES

This is a monumental Chinese export silver bird and floral punch bowl.

In raised circular form with gentle scallop rim and beautifully applied and then hand chased prunus flowering branch.

Formed as twelve panels. Each with completely different bird and floral scene.

Including family of cranes feeding in gentle stream, with tall iris. An owl perched in flowering prunus tree branch.

A hawk.

Cranes, song birds in garden, pheasant and royal chrysanthemum and more. The work is richly detailed and clearly from the hand of master finish chasers.

Set atop bulbous twelve panel base. Decorated with twelve more completely unique from one another nature scenes, birds, crane owl and floral sprays. Never monogrammed.

Chinese export silver bowl is 15 1/4 inches across 10 1/4 inches tall weighs 128 (standard) ounces.

Later marked Sterling base rim.

Excellent condition. Lustreous silver patina throughout. The twenty four different floral and bird in garden and in the wild scenes retain their original brilliant detail. Stands firm on table. Mild wear.
