These paper cuts are all handmade in China, where paper cutting has been a traditional folk art dating back to 105 A.D.
The pictures are carved from special, tissue-thin rice paper, then hand-painted with bright Chinese ink.
They are cut out in the inside as well the edges and thus stand-out against any background. Each motif is an unbroken, continuous piece.

These paper cuts can be used to create greeting cards, decorate photo albums, make bookmarks or design a poster.
Each set of paper cut has its own special design.

A)Glue Stic
I. Usenon-liquid-type glue sticks such as those found in the school/office suppliesstores.
II. Keep your hands dry when working with papercuts.
III. To paste the paper cut onto a greetingcard:
1. Apply a thin andeven layer of glue on the greeting card.
2. Carefully place thepaper cut onto the card and press it lightly.
**DO NOT apply the glue to the paper cut itself!
**DO NOT lift up the paper cut once it is pasted onto the card. Pleasemake sure the position is correct before pasting the paper cut onto the card.

1. Unique greeting cards:
Chinese paper cuts look great on white paper.The 3x4 in. or 4x5 in. paper cuts are excellent for making birthday or othergreeting cards. This panda design is a good example.

Paper cuts looked the same from the front and theback. To make a special bookmark of floating picture, instead of pasting apiece of paper cut onto paper, we can place it between two thick plasticsheets, then seal the edges to make an unique bookmark.
