Christmas STORIES FROM THE \"SKETCH BOOK\", By Washington Irving, J. B. Lippincott & Co., 1875. \"Illustrated with original designs by eminent artists.\"
8 vo, 8 1/2\" x 6 1/4\". Pages are gold gilt all around. Red covers with gold gilt. Many unique illustrations.
Condition: Fair. Front cover is significantly cracked but holding. Spine also has significant damage (see picture). Some staining on boards and bumping. Back hinge is in good shape.
The pages, however are completely unmarked and in remarkably good shape, and the binding is holding firm, with no loose or missing pages. If I could rate the inside of the book alone I would say it was in very good shape. This was printed on very thick paper that has a wonderful feel and the gold gilt around the edges is very bright. Wonderful illustrations.
