Cigarette Case "war 1914 - 1915", Faberge, Russian Imperial:
Copper cigarette case "War 1914-1915", made by the workshop of the most famous jewelers of Russia - the supplier of the Court Of his Imperial Majesty Karl Faberge. On the front side there is a relief image of a two-headed eagle in the old Russian style, the inscription " War 1914-1915 "and the signature"K. Faberge". The manufacture of items from base metals was due to the great War and the General Patriotic impulse. Faberge company was no exception: copper was used to make cigarette cases, coasters, decorative saucers - all decorated in the same style, with the inscription "War 1914 - 1915". Cost these items are not much cheaper than silver, and the proceeds from their sale money went to the needs of the front.
Similar cigarette cases are presented in the Faberge Museum in St. Petersburg and Baden-Baden, in the Hermitage and many private collections.
