Here for your consideration is a nice lightly used Cinelli 1/A quill stem in the 140mm size. This old-production stem measures 140mm horizontally along the top edge, and about 137mm along the horizontal side centerline. The handlebar clamp diameter of 26.4mm fits vintage Cinelli handlebars like the #64 Giro d\'Italia and the #66 Campione Del Mondo. This stem has a 22.2 mm English/Italian outer diameter, and is well suited for vintage racing bicycles like Bianch, Cinelli, Colnago, DeRosa, Eddy Merckx, Holsworth, Mercian, Pinarello, etc. This stem is also period correct for an Eroica qualified bike. I have hand sanded with 220 grit sandpaper the inside face of the handlebar clamp area and the bottom of the stem where it secures into the fork (per Cinelli instructions) to provide a better, non slip grip of the handlebars into the stem and the stem into the fork. I have had slip in those areas until I sanded down the anodizing. Removing the anodizing provide a much better grip.
