Circa 1890s AntiqueInfant\'s/Child\'s Christening Gown Cape with silk and lace. Off white/light creamin color.Measuring about 29.5\" long. Heavier cotton Christening Cape, lined also with cotton,with 2 button closureon the front.Gorgeous collar/cape made of silk and lace work. Daintytiny trim around the collar/neck area.Didn\'t notice any damage to thelace or silk, just one small area of separation of silk and lace, a few stitches to fix. The cotton cape itself is in wonderful condition with one small thread area showingdown at the bottom front, not too noticeable but wanted to mention. Itis a wee bit dingy and hasone faint stain area, see last photo. We have not laundered it..
There are a couple of small faint stains and medium colored oneon the inside cotton lining, a couple of small wear holes, a wee bit dingy in areas, nothing major considering the age of this piece.Barely musty. A lovely piece of History for your Collection!!
