Each week I bring you vintage early radio items. I have been collecting radios, phonographs, and music boxes for over 40 years and always have something interesting available. Here up forofferis this circa 1916 or so Crystal Radio Receiver with Murdock tuning condenser and Murdock phone capacitor, marble based crystal detector, and loose coupler tuning. This is from the Marconi Wireless Era. This would be the attention getterin any collection or museum.This radio looks amazing, and is built on a thick wood base. The radio measures 17.5 inches long, and 12 inches deep. It stands 8.5 inches high to the top terminal of the loose coupler. The switch is to switch from the on board crystal detector to an external crystal, or spherical or tubular audion tube detector via the two terminals under the switch. The radio plays and gets stations when antenna, ground, and headphones are used. I will include a wire connection diagram. You will love this radio.
