Sword is an Ames Meg co. Cabotville Mass.model 1840 dated 1849. Much of the leather is worn off of handlebut still has 4 strands of wire left. the leather washer is intact and the blade is clean with some pitting and a mark towards tip indicating a possiblerepair, also an old steel dowel was installed on the ricasso covering some of the markings but the date is clear.The pommel has inspection markings WD J.W.R and W.CK..... 35\'\' blade...
