This 22.5mm button is classified VA222A7 by Tice and VA13 by Albert. Tice considers it \"one of the most attractive\" of the Virginia buttons. This one has a smooth dark patina with just enough gold gilt remaining to highlight the letters and the Virtus figure. There is a small dent at about four o\'clock on the face, but it doesn\'t really affect the great display of this dug button. * SCOVILL MFG. CO. * / WATERBURY clearly appearsas a raised mark in a depressed channel. The shank is present but bent against the back.
